Every June 1st, in the town of Sparrow, the Swan Season begins. A long time ago, three sisters were drowned accused of witchcraft. Her father’s missing and her mum is slightly-crazy and she has a best friend called Rose. This book is DEFINITELY plot-driven and I’m really glad! It was such a unique and capturing storyline and I didn’t get bored once. If you want a book that keeps you on your toes, on the end of your seat, The Wicked Deep is for you.Įssentially we have Penny Tabolt. I read this book in one sitting and I REALLY wasn’t expecting it to be that good? Like it was just a finished copy I received from the publishers and it looked quite small so I wasn’t expecting to pack so much of a punch. Holy crap I think I just fell into a land of plot twists, and love, and murder and witches and mystery and gosh, this book was fabulous. Thank you to Simon & Schuster for my copy of The Wicked Deep. Why, yes, I am pleased. I actually haven’t read many books that are set in the ocean so this was a pleasant surprise. There’s something about books set around the sea and lighthouses with a hint of evil and magic and this book was exactly that. Honestly, evil mermaids and murdering men are both MY AESTHETIC.
